U23 European Boxing Championships in Budapest!

From November 21 to 30, Budapest will host the very first U23 European Championships of European Boxing. The Hungarian capital has a rich tradition of staging major international boxing tournaments: in 1930 and 1934, as well as in 1985, it was the venue of the Men’s European Championships; in 1997, the AIBA World Championships were held at the Budapest Sports Hall; in 2000, the Junior World Championships took place at the Körcsarnok; and in 2017, the Youth World Championships were staged in the Duna Arena. (In addition, two Hungarian cities also hosted major events: Kecskemét welcomed the Cadet World Championships in 2002, while Pécs staged the Women’s European Championships in 2003.)

This year, the European section of World Boxing – the world federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee – has chosen Budapest to host the first-ever U23 European Championships. We believe that Hall A of the BOK Sports Hall complex will provide an excellent venue for this historic event.
